Testing and Key Club

We went "old school" with the desks for our NWEA testing the past couple of weeks!  The kids seriously LOVED sitting like this!  :)

We had a wonderful visit from the Key Club at LHS too.  They gave each 3rd grade classroom a short presentation about eating healthy foods and exercising.  Most kids said they wouldn't be eating chicken nuggets anymore after seeing how they were made!!!!

They even got the kids up and moving!! 

Math Facts in a Flash Passers!!!

Congratulations to our friends, Dru and Cooper, for passing ALL 44 of the Math Facts in a Flash levels!!!!  We are all so proud of your hard work and dedication!!

Read Across America Day

To celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday on March 2nd, Challenger brought in guest readers to all classrooms for Read Across America Day today!  We were super lucky and got to have Landon Sanders, a Lincoln High School Senior!!  He was on the Varsity Boys Hockey team and brought in Z is for Zamboni to read to the kids!  The really cool thing he shared with us is that he wants to go to college to become an Elementary School Teacher!!! YAY!! We thought he did a fantastic job reading to us today and we think he'll make a SUPER teacher!!!!

Newsletter February 24-28

Valentine's Day Fun!!!

We had one of the busiest (but most fun) days last Friday!  Here are the highlights of our day!!

 Having fun handing out Valentine's Day candy and cards!!

 We had an AWESOME visit from the LHS Robotics team.  I think we might have some future Robotics team members in 3rd grade this year!!


The following pictures are from our Minute To Win It game we played.  They had to hold a spaghetti noodle with their mouth and, without using their hands, get 6 ziti pasta pieces on the spaghetti noodle!   This was one of the best things we've done as a class!  The kids were cheering on team members, taping each other with iPads and being great sports!

 We had a special visit from Mr. Wienen!  He was here to present Dru with a special prowler award for being an AWESOME Challenger student!!!  Way to go Dru!!!!

 Teresa and Kyle were great helpers last Friday!  They took down our January calendar and hung up our new one for February!!  Thanks friends!!!
