Green Day!

To celebrate GREEN DAY (March 17th) here at Challenger, we enjoyed GREEN snacks in our classroom.  We snacked on everything from pickles to limes to cookies!  It was a wonderful day!

Lunch Trophy!

It was announced on Friday, March 13th that our class was the weekly winner of the traveling lunch trophy.  The lunch staff choose one class each week to win the trophy.  Let's just say....we were VERY excited!!

Celebrating National Potato Chip Day!

It was National Chip Day on March 14th.  We decided to celebrate that glorious day on Friday, March 13th.  We're still enjoying some of the flavorful chips the kids brought in!

Science Experiment Time :)

Treyton and his mom are working on a science fair experiment and asked if our class could help.  They needed our class to first pass around 2 pieces of bread, one white and one wheat.  Each student was to touch the bread using their DIRTY hands (we had just been to gym class!!).

Then each student washed their hands really well and we did the same process over again.  They each touched the white bread and the wheat bread slice with CLEAN hands!  Treyton and his mom are now waiting to see which of the slices of bread grows mold the fastest!  We can't wait to see what happens!

Read Across America Day-Dr. Seuss' Birthday!!

On Monday, March 2nd we celebrated Read Across America Day and Dr. Seuss' birthday!  To start the morning we had a wonderful guest reader named Maddie Stewart.  She read the book Horton Hatches the Egg to an appreciative class!  They LOVED it and she did a wonderful job!

Later that morning, ALL the 3rd graders went out into the hallway and read their favorite books for 30 minutes!  It was so cool to see that many kids reading together and enjoying their books!
